Sinful Colors: Zeus

Today I have for you "Zeus" from the Cast Away collection.  I was a big fan of that collection, the only one I didn't pick up was "Pandora".  "Zeus" is a dirty purple with a pink sheen/shimmer to it.  It applied perfect in 2 coats.

Expect to see more Sinful Colors posts, as I took advantage of the 99 cents sale.  I absolutely love SC.  They're very affordable (even at regular price of $1.99).  I love the bottle, it doesn't feel cheap and the brushes are great too.  They also have a great color range.

I topped this manicure off with 2 coats of SH insta-dri anti-chip.  Pictures taken in natural light (yay)!

***I think "Zeus" is limited edition, I don't know for sure.  Even if you think you missed it, check your local Walgreens again.  I know stores in my area got more stock in recently.***

Sinful Colors: Sweet Dreams

I've been such a slacker, I apologize ladies!  I know I don't post nearly as much as other polish bloggers, but this was a bit long even for me!  I will admit, I had my heart broken.  I suffered a horrible break up......from Poshe!  What the heck, has Poshe changed their formula?  It's been terrible lately, causing shrinkage!!  I reached out to fellow polish lovers asking what top coats they use.  Everything mentioned were ones I tried, and have not liked.  Cult Nails Wicked Fast was recommended, but honestly.....I don't want to fall in love with a top coat I can't pick up at the drug store.  Call me crazy, I'm just not willing to do that.

Then I asked my Aunt, who has ALWAYS had beautiful long nails.  I cannot remember seeing them "naked" in my life!  Once? M A Y B E ?  She said, Sally Hansen in the red bottle.  I knew exactly what she was talking about, Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat.  I picked it up that night.  The verdict so far? PURE LOVE!  It is thin, dries quick, and dries shiney (not as shiney as Poshe but who cares!? Poshe ruins my manicure now)!

I end up applying 2 coats of top coat all the time anyways, and with 2 coats it is very shiney!  I also have to say, it is wearing better than Poshe too.  I had on Layla "Jade Groove" on for 4 days and NO tip wear.  Love this top coat!

Enough of my babbling.....today I have for you Sinful Colors "Sweet Dreams".  I seriously picked this color up more than once and put it down every time.  Tisk, tisk.  Why?  Why would I do that?  It's not like $1.99 is a lot.  Well, Walgreens has the 99 cents sale going this week and I set out to find this.  Of course I couldn't find it anymore. *cries*  Luckily, Mom came to my rescue and checked a few Walgreens near her.  THANK YOU MOM!!

I applied 2 coats of "SD" and 2 coats of Insta-Dri Anti-Chip for the pictures below.  In natural sunlight!!!  I'm going to try taking pictures outside more often.  It's always dark when I paint my nails after work.  So I waited until the next day to snap pictures.  Well worth waiting the extra day I think!

OPI: Metallic 4 Life

I have to admit, putting on a dark color was a shock after so many soft shades.  "Metallic 4 Life" is from the Nicki Minaj collection.  It has multiple sized silver hexagons in a black jelly base.  So cool!  This is the only shade I picked up, and I cannot tell you a single thing about Nicki Minaj.  Not really my type of music.  Sorry loves!

I did decide to layer this over black, that way I can extend the life of the polish.  The results = love!

For this manicure:
1 coat of Milani "Attic"
1 coat of "Metallic 4 Life"
1 coat of Gelous
1 coat of Poshe

OPI: Step Right Up!

"Step Right Up!" is from OPI's 2011 soft shade collection, Femme De Cirque.  I was able to snag this 3 for the price of 1 at Regis Salon recently.  Which has me asking....were any of the shades added to the permanent line?  Is anyone able to tell me?  I am loving "SRU", it is a gorgeous whitened pale pink.  It applied awesome in 3 coats.  I am pretty pale and this shade looks nice on me (despite my camera giving me lobster hands, I swear I am not a lobster).

I finished off with a coat of gelous and poshe.  (A coat of gelous for added protection).  I am wearing a lot of soft shades because work is a bit rough on my nails.  Soft shades seem to hold up best and if I get any chips, much less noticeable.

Did you try any of the soft shades from this collection?  Did you like them?  I am currently waiting on "In The Spot-Light Pink" in the mail.  It will complete the collection.

OPI: Don't Touch My Tutu and Sally Hansen: White Veil

I am loving each polish I've tried from the OPI New York City Ballet collection.  "Don't Touch My Tutu" is a gorgeous white jelly.  I applied 4 coats, although 3 would have been fine.  I rushed the coats because I had planned on topping each nail with Sally Hansen "White Veil".  After seeing "DTMT" on each nail, I couldn't do it!  So I decided on a fourth coat and "WV" on just the ring fingers.
